Maya’s Big Hair Chop: Over $6,000 Raised in Memory of Abbey
A Decade-Long Journey Ends with a Heartfelt Tribute and Lasting Impact
Maya, a courageous cancer survivor herself, and after 10 years of growth, cut off 46 cm of her beautiful tresses to raise over $6,000 for the Abbey Solo Foundation. The funds will go directly to support families affected by childhood cancer, while Maya’s hair will be donated to create wigs for cancer patients, helping those in need feel empowered, just as Abbey did.
Reflecting on Maya’s dedication, Malia, founder of the Abbey Solo Foundation and Abbey’s mother, shared, “This young, incredible lady raised more than $6,000 to honour Abbey and their friendship.” The event, captured in heartwarming photos and videos, marked both an emotional and empowering moment for Maya and the community.
Abbey, who loved showing off her wigs, was an inspiration to many. Maya’s selfless act continues that legacy, reminding us of the strength and compassion that can emerge from a deep friendship.
