It was an emotional day on October 12 when Malia, Solo, Jas and Josh joined Gerard to meet with the amazing students in Yrs 5 & 6 at Sacred Heart Primary School in Fitzroy to talk about Abbey’s story and the foundation in her name. It was the eighth anniversary of Abbey’s passing and it was wonderful to be back amongst passionate young people wanting to do good for others. Their principal, Matt Shawcross was assistant principal at Mother of God School in Ardeer when Abbey was a student there.

The Sacred Heart school community is the newest member of the AbSTAR Ambassador School program joining other schools in raising awareness of childhood cancer as well as important funds for the foundation. They raised an amazing $3500 from their BBQ and competitive ball games on Referendum Day. We are grateful for that!
